"What I Believe" by BK
Saratoga Springs is a wonderful city with a distinctive array of features. The slogan “Health, History, and Horses” aptly captures some of its uniqueness. Our commission form of government is also unique. As a member of the 2015-2016 Charter Review Commission, I became thoroughly familiar with how this form of government is supposed to work. I understand that what I need to bring to the table is more than management competence in running an efficient and effective DPW. It requires taking personal responsibility so that the entire City Council can work together efficiently and effectively. My experience as an engineer, a technical team leader and manager, CEO of a start-up, and an active participant in the political process has uniquely qualified me for this complex role.
I value:
a. Cooperation with the other City Council members
b. Willingness to negotiate and compromise
c. Mutual respect and civility
While I have my own deeply-held values, I am flexible in taking into account what is practical and what our citizens want and need. I support the platform of the Saratoga Springs Democratic Committee.
