Our commissioner form of government is challenging. As a member of the 2015-2016 Charter Review Commission, I became thoroughly familiar with how this form of government is supposed to work. I understand that what I need to bring to the table is more than management competence in running an efficient and effective DPW. It requires taking personal responsibility so that the entire City Council can work together efficiently and effectively. My experience as a technical team leader and manager has uniquely qualified me for this complex role.
I value:
a. Cooperation with the other City Council members
b. Willingness to negotiate and compromise
c. Mutual respect and civility
While I have my own deeply-held values, I am flexible in taking into account what is practical and what our citizens want and need. I support the platform of the Saratoga Springs Democratic Committee.
